My self-care routine
beauty
I am a huge fan of self-care practices, it's really essential to living a healthy and happy life. So many of us are constantly on the run so by adding a few simple self-care routines to our lives we drastically change how we feel. See below for my favorite at home self-care routines that you can add to your weekly routine.
5 self-care must-haves
1. Face Mask: Facials take so much time and are expensive so I love throwing on a weekly nourishing mask. One of my favorite brands are the ORGAID sheet mask. Our skin is the larges organ in our body so make sure to take good care of it.
2. Exfoliant Scrub: Many of you know that I am obsessed with all of Indie Lee's products, but I am even more obsessed with her coconut citrus scrub. The scrub doesn't leave your shower feeling slippery and it makes your skin feel amazing and moisturized. The best part is you don't need lotion after using the scrub! I promise your skin will forever love you.
3. Fresh Flowers: My mom always had fresh flowers in our house growing up and it just made me feel good. I like taking care of things so having plants around me makes me happy. My favorite flowers are peonies!
4. Bath Salts: I love taking epsom salt baths as a part of my weekly self-care recovery regime. Since I am so active epsom salt baths help relax my muscles and loosen my stiff joints. You can buy epsom salt at any drug store, one of my favorite brands is here.
5. Dry Brushing: My mother turned me onto dry brushing years ago, our family is all about a good homeopathic remedy! The brush above I got as a kid but you can purchase any dry brush at local health food stores or amazon. Read below for how to dry brush.
the how and why of Dry Brushing
I am sure many of you have seen this little brush around numerous whole-foods across the country and wondered what is that? Dry brushing has been around for years and it is one of those homeopathic remedies I love. My mother introduced my sister and I to this self-care practice years ago. Since our skin is the largest organ in the body it is so important that we take care of it. Dry brushing helps unclog pores and helps eliminate toxins that become trapped in the skin. There are numerous benefits but one that always caught my attention was the reduction of cellulite. Dry brushing helps break down the toxic materials under the skin and helps the body get rid of them naturally!
HOW TO Dry brush:
- Get naked
- Begin bushing by starting at bottom of your feet and move in long sweeping motions towards your heart.
- Work your way up the entire body even the breast area and under your arm pits.
- Step into your shower and alternate between the coldest and hottest temperature. This increases blood circulation and will often help reduce inflammation.
- End the process by drying off and lathering up with a body oil. My favorite body oil is the Aphrodisiac Glow Body Oil by Jesse Golden.
7 Key Benefits of Dry brushing:
- Smoother Skin
- Improved Circulation
- Improved Immunity
- Better Muscle Tone
- Removes Toxins
- Exfoliates and Detox Skin
- Improved Organ Function

You can also add body oil to the brush as pictured here. I prefer brush-only, but do what works best for you!
