A day to give Thanks

Happy Thanksgiving

So much to be thankful for ...

Happy Thanksgiving! I can't believe how fast this year has flown by ... between moving to a new city, making new friends and growing my business in a new location, a lot has happened in just a short period of time. Drew and I decided to move to the beautiful state of Colorado last October, and honestly I have never looked back. We had been looking to transition on from New York City for many years, but it never felt like the "right time" ... I mean is any time ever the "right time"? For years, something always seemed to be holding us to New York City, and honestly, it wasn't until the moment Drew and I decided to make an extended visit to CO first was when NYC "released" us. Leaving our "safe" place was REALLY scary and something that was extremely hard to do. People told us "you know, your careers are going to suffer" or "you're moving to Denver, what's in Denver??" or even better "are you giving up?" Their words affected me, for about one second, and then I realized I wasn't going to allow anyone else dictate my journey. Like many professions and entrepreneurs, mine is like a roller-coaster ... one day you feel like the "it" girl and the next day you are seriously getting the boot. It's a game of true mental toughness. I really requires believing in your self worth. So, today, I am THANKFUL for my journey because I have never been so happy and I am so glad I followed my heart! I missed the mountains so much ... it's my therapy and I needed that back in my life. I learned to trust my own journey and forget about the rest.

So, Colorado, I thank you for opening your arms and allowing us to grow with you! I wake up every day pinching myself because I cannot believe I get to call you home. And thank you, New York, for breaking me down and picking me back up, time and time again. Your intensity lives in my soul every day and I cannot thank you enough for that.

This Thanksgiving, I am giving it up to Colorado, and to us, for simply having the guts to step out into new waters and never giving up! My journey has been full of highs and lows, but one thing I know is I will never let go of happiness. Happiness looks, feels and smells different to each individual, so thank you Colorado for giving me that back. Remember, life advances when you have the courage to make changes. I encourage all of you to listen to what feeds your soul ... go for it and don't look back.
